Engaging Leaders

A great deal of valuable ministry to the vulnerable is being carried out in Metro Vancouver “under the radar.” City Gate tracks down and establishes relationships with the most promising of these ministries, particularly those working with under-served populations or in areas of the region where holistic ministries are not common.

Pastors and leaders of Christian social service agencies are often unaware of quality work being done right in their own neighbourhood, let alone sector-leading practices carried on outside the region. City Gate’s regional, national, and international spheres of relationship have made us a “go to” source for a growing number of churches, nonprofits, and individuals who want to start a new program or organization – and don’t want to reinvent the wheel or needlessly go it alone.

Our network – The bedrock of intermediary work is trust among senior leaders and trust in the senior leaders of the intermediary itself. We are constantly strengthening and extending these interpersonal relationships.

New initiatives – convening stakeholders to explore potential joint ventures, and providing input on ideas brought forward by others.

Liaising with policy makers and philanthropists – We meet with elected officials, bureaucrats, and influential private citizens in order to provide a Christian perspective on social issues and concrete suggestions for partnering well with the Christian community to make life in our city region vibrant and sustainable even for our most vulnerable neighbours.
