______________Networking Lunch______________
Homelessness affects communities throughout the Lower Mainland and therefore requires a coordinated regional strategy. However, each community is also unique and therefore different parts of the region are adapting the regional strategy to suit their own affordable housing needs.
Lunch was organized by The Greater Vancouver Regional Steering Committee on Homelessness (RSCH), a federally-mandated coalition of community organizations and all levels of government. The RSCH brings together a range of people and organizations – including faith-based community partners – who operate or fund facilities, services and programs targeted to people who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness in the region.
The RSCH’s vision is to eliminate homelessness in Greater Vancouver through the full implementation of the Regional Homelessness Plan: Three Ways to Home.
People and organizations of faith throughout the Lower Mainland have been progressive leaders for responding to the housing crisis. Likewise, there are many amazing people and organizations of good will who are providing excellent services that can inform faith-based efforts. The RSCH wants to encourage such leadership as they pull communities together to achieve positive change.
Working together, we are stronger.
