Our Values

We Value the City

God loves the City. God’s creative and redemptive purpose includes persons and places; we must seek spiritual, social, and physical transformation as a result of proclamation.

We Value the Church

The local church is God’s primary instrument through which the redemption of society occurs. The whole church in a city, including the laity working in their various sectors, has tremendous resources to bring.

We Value the Vulnerable

The poor and disenfranchised are at the centre of God's redemptive activity. Caring about and serving them must always be characterized by respect and value for the gifts they possess as human beings created in God’s image.

We Value Collaboration

The calling and needs of our urban communities compel us to cooperation; collaboration reflects the heartbeat of Kingdom work. While honouring differences in tradition and doctrine, we seek unity in the broad common ground. We grow in Christ as together we engage in his work.

Our Faith

Our Statement of Faith is the Apostles’ Creed. This is the most widely adopted statement of basic Christian belief. We aspire to a humble orthodoxy. Confidence in the gospel of Jesus Christ enables us to interact widely with respect and generosity. Submission to Christ compels us to love as God loves, with Jesus as our guide.
